Order Tracking

Need to check where your order is? Use our order tracking steps to confirm approval, production, packing and delivery status for active jobs. We keep it simple for businesses, clubs and schools ordering from Durban North across eThekwini and nearby areas.

Order Tracking

Start with your order reference and approval status

Every active job begins with a reference linked to your quote, artwork and approved spec. When you follow up, have that reference ready along with your company name, school, club or event name. That lets us find your job quickly and confirm exactly where it sits in the workflow.

The first thing we check is whether the artwork, sizes, colours and garment list have been approved. If approval is still pending, the job will not move into production. That helps avoid costly mistakes on embroidered golf shirts, caps, corporate wear and promo items where colour matching and placement matter.

  • Have your order reference ready
  • Confirm the exact items ordered
  • Check whether artwork approval has been given
  • Note any changes requested after approval

Understand the production stages on your job

Once an order is approved, it moves through a set of production stages. For embroidery, the first step is digitising where the logo is prepared for stitching. For print jobs, the artwork is checked and set for screen printing or heat press printing depending on the garment and quantity. If your order includes both embroidery and print, the job may move through more than one department.

In our Durban North base, the production team checks fabric type, thread or ink use, placement and count before anything is released for finishing. This is important for uniforms and bulk orders, especially when the same design needs to go onto different sizes or on mixed items for staff packs. If a rush order is possible, we will say so clearly and confirm the revised timing before work continues.

  • Digitising for embroidery jobs
  • Artwork checks for print jobs
  • Production setup and sampling if needed
  • Stitching or printing in progress
  • Final check before packing

Check whether your order is in packing or ready for dispatch

When production is complete, the job moves to packing. This stage includes counting, folding, bagging and checking sizes against the order slip. For schools and corporate accounts, we also make sure each pack is separated correctly so distribution is easier when it reaches your office or campus.

From there, the dispatch team confirms whether the order is ready for collection or on route for delivery. If you are in Umhlanga, La Lucia, Mount Edgecombe, Westville, Pinetown, Hillcrest or Ballito, we can advise on the next collection or delivery window. Coastal humidity, traffic and load-shedding can affect timing, so we always work with practical schedules rather than guesswork.

  • Packing means the order has cleared production
  • Dispatch means the job is booked for handover or delivery
  • Delivery timing depends on route and job size
  • Mixed orders may leave in more than one carton

What to send when asking for an update

The fastest way to get a useful update is to give the right details the first time. That saves back and forth and helps us check the status without delay. If you are following up on behalf of a team member, include your name and your role so we can match the request to the correct file.

It also helps to tell us if the order is for a bulk corporate run, a school event, a club kit or a single promo item line. Different jobs can move at different speeds, especially when artwork still needs approval or when a sample run has been requested first.

  • Order reference or invoice number
  • Name of the business, school or club
  • Items ordered and quantities
  • Any special notes such as rush order or split delivery
  • The area for delivery, if applicable

When a delay can happen and what it usually means

Sometimes a job pauses for reasons that are easy to fix. Common examples include waiting for artwork approval, confirming a logo change, missing garment sizes, stock adjustments or a sample run that needs sign-off. If a colour match or placement check is needed, production will stop until the instruction is clear.

During busy periods, especially before school events, company year-end functions and sports tournaments, the queue can be longer than usual. If load-shedding affects the print room or embroidery machines, we will reschedule the affected step and keep the order moving as soon as power is restored. That way you know whether the job is still in production or simply waiting for the next stage.

How EMB Designs keeps active jobs moving

Our Durban North team handles embroidery, screen printing, heat press printing, cap branding and promo item printing in one place, which makes tracking easier for active jobs. Sibusiso Mthembu oversees the process with support from Nokuthula Dlamini in production, Jason Naidoo on digitising, Anele Khumalo in sales, Priya Govender in the print room and Morne van zyl in dispatch. Each step is managed by the person who handles that part of the job.

If you have a current order, the best approach is to check status before collection or delivery day. That helps prevent wasted trips and makes sure the pack is ready. For active jobs across Durban North, Umhlanga, Westville, Pinetown, Ballito and nearby areas, we keep the tracking process practical, clear and easy to follow.

  • One team handles approval, production and dispatch
  • Each job is checked before leaving the premises
  • Rush orders are confirmed before they are pushed through
  • Delivery and collection are tracked separately where needed

Questions we get asked

How do I check the status of my order?

Send your order reference, business or school name and the items ordered through the enquiry form on our contact page. We will confirm whether the job is waiting for approval, in production, being packed or ready for delivery.

Can you track a rush order the same day?

Yes, if the job is marked as a rush order we can check the current stage and advise whether same day turnaround is still possible. Final timing depends on artwork approval, item type and production load on the day.

What if my order is delayed?

Delays usually come from missing approval, stock changes or a production issue such as power interruption. We will tell you what is holding the job and what is needed to move it forward.
