Uniform Packs

EMB Designs sorts staff issue packs by person, department, branch or team, with uniform items marked, packed and ready to hand out. From Durban North to Umhlanga, Westville, Pinetown and Ballito, we prepare practical packs for daily wear, launches, intake days and seasonal issue cycles.

Uniform Packs

Pack the right items for each person, team or branch

Uniform packs are the easiest way to issue the same standard across a business without tying up managers, reception staff or HR on the day. We group garments and branded items by name, department, branch or team, then pack everything so it can be handed out with minimal sorting. That can be 12 golf shirts for a sales team in Umhlanga, 40 hospitality sets for a Ballito site, or a school order split by house, grade or staff group.

The usual pack includes embroidered or printed golf shirts, corporate shirts, caps, jackets, aprons, tunics, workwear trousers, lanyards, name badges and selected promo items. If you need sizes mixed across S to 5XL, or child and adult sizing in the same order, we label each line clearly. Packs can be made for first issue, replacement issue, seasonal issue or event use, and they are especially useful where staff move between sites in eThekwini and need the same standard every time.

  • Sorted by person, department, branch, team or grade
  • Branded garments, caps and promo items in one issue cycle
  • Size labelling for quick handout and easy re-ordering

What goes into a uniform pack

A pack is built around your issue list, the work environment and how often items will be washed. For office and client-facing teams, that may mean embroidered golf shirts, formal shirts and a cap. For warehouse, security, schools or field staff, it may include heavier garments, hi-vis items or sun protection extras. We also handle mixed packs where one branch gets short-sleeve shirts and another gets long-sleeve workwear because of site conditions or weather exposure.

We check every item for size, colour, logo position and finishing before packing. If the order includes embroidery, we use in-house digitising to set the stitch file to suit the fabric and logo detail. If print is better, such as for large event branding or flat artwork, we use screen printing or heat press printing, depending on quantity and surface. Caps are branded separately so the front panel, side panel or peak area stays neat and readable.

  • Embroidery for golf shirts, shirts, jackets and caps
  • Screen printing or heat press for flat artwork and larger runs
  • Optional sample runs before the full order starts
  • Artwork checks to reduce errors on names, logos and sizes

How the packing process works from artwork to handover

We start with your issue schedule and the pack breakdown. If you send a list, we confirm sizes, item counts and branding positions. If the order needs sorting by branch or department, we build the structure before production starts so nothing gets mixed up later. This matters on larger orders where one missing size can delay the full issue.

Next, we prepare artwork and confirm the branding method. If a logo needs digitising, that is done in-house, which keeps the file under control and avoids back-and-forth with outside suppliers. Once production begins, items move through embroidery or print, then into finishing, folding, checking and packing. Each pack is labelled and can be boxed by person or by department, depending on how you want it issued. Morne and the dispatch team then coordinate collection or delivery once the packs are complete.

  • Step 1: Confirm the issue list and pack structure
  • Step 2: Approve artwork, sizes and branding positions
  • Step 3: Produce, check, fold and pack by unit
  • Step 4: Dispatch for collection or delivery

Turnaround for standard and rush issue cycles

Normal turnaround depends on item type, artwork approval, quantities and stock availability, but uniform packs are often completed faster than people expect when the brief is clear. For many repeat orders, we can move from approval to packing within a short production window. If you are working to a school opening date, a staff onboarding day or a promotional launch, we can plan the order around that date rather than just treating it as another bulk run.

Rush orders are available for time-sensitive issue cycles, including 24-hour turnaround where the artwork, stock and pack list are all in place. That option suits Durban North businesses dealing with last-minute inductions, emergency replacements or conference packs. It does help to send the full list early, because one missing size or an unclear logo can slow everything down. During load-shedding or wet weather, we also build in practical production timing so the schedule stays realistic.

  • Standard orders planned around stock and approval time
  • Rush orders available for urgent issue cycles
  • 24-hour option on qualifying packs and artwork

Pricing that suits small teams and bulk issue

Pricing depends on the garment mix, branding method, pack size and whether each pack is identical or individually sorted. A simple 20 pack of printed golf shirts will price differently from a 200 pack with embroidery, caps, name sorting and mixed sizes. We quote clearly so you can see what is included and where the main cost sits, whether that is branding, labour, packing or delivery.

For larger issue runs, bulk pricing usually improves the more pieces you place in the same production cycle. That said, we also help smaller teams keep costs under control by choosing the right decoration method and by avoiding unnecessary extras. If you need one garment style for office staff and another for site staff, we can separate the pricing and still keep the issue process tidy. That helps with budgeting for schools, clubs and businesses that need to control spend across branches in Durban North, La Lucia, Mount Edgecombe and Hillcrest.

  • Quoted by quantity, garment type and branding method
  • Clear split between production, packing and delivery where needed
  • Bulk pricing available for repeated or multi-branch issue cycles

Care, re-issue planning and maintenance intervals

Uniform packs work best when the clothing lasts well and the re-order cycle is planned before the last shirt is gone. For most corporate and school wear, we suggest checking stock levels every 3 to 6 months, depending on wear rate, wash frequency and staff movement. High-use items like golf shirts and caps may need topping up sooner, especially in humid coastal conditions where garments get washed more often and colour can fade if the fabric is not suited to the job.

We can help set a re-issue rhythm so you are not placing emergency orders every time a new person starts. That includes keeping a record of logo files, size ranges and pack formats, which makes repeat orders quicker and cleaner. If your team changes seasonally, we can also adjust the pack for winter or summer use, with options like long sleeves, jackets or lighter shirts. It keeps the issue process practical, and less of a headache for the admin side.

  • Suggested stock review every 3 to 6 months
  • Repeat orders made easier with stored logo and pack details
  • Seasonal changes available for summer and winter issue cycles
